User attributes allow you to characterize your users.
These attributes can be used to automatically pre-fill fields in your forms or set access rights.
1- What is a user attribute?
A user attribute is a piece of data that can be of any type (numbers, texts, coordinates).
Each user can therefore be characterized by one or more attributes.
By default, Ermeo defines several user attributes for each of your users. These attributes are:
- the user's first name
- the user's last name
- the user's identifier
- the user's team
- the user's role
In addition to this list of default attributes, there are the attributes you define for your users, for example:
- Function
- Matricule
- Operating unit
- Subsidiary
2- In practice, how to characterize users with attributes?
Context: The supervisor will create an attribute to determine the seniority level in the company. This data will be a number.
- Go to the Users section and click on Structure.
- Click on "Create an attribute".
- Fill in a name and a type for the attribute. We will fill in "Seniority Year" and Number type.
- Click on create the attribute.
We will now associate the created attribute with a user present on your platform.
- Go back to the Users tab, and select a user.
- Click on the user's Attributes tab.
- Fill in a value for the Seniority Year attribute.
Your user is now characterized by his seniority year in your company.
