1. Where is the Manual Selection block widget located?
The Manual Selection block widget allows a supervisor to pre-select one or more resources for their operator. The operator can then choose resources from this pre-selection.
The supervisor defines criteria for pre-selecting resources. A list of resources will then be displayed for the operator based on these criteria. The operator will manually choose the relevant resources from this list.
The Manual Selection block is found within your editing studio, in the Databases category.
2. How to use the Manual Selection block widget in practice?
Within the settings, you can choose the minimum and maximum number of resources that your operator can select.
You must define pre-selection criteria. These criteria can be based on:
- Resource names
- Resource parents
- Resource databases
- Resource creation and/or modification dates
- Resource attributes
Context: I want to pre-select all resources where the Brand attribute is "Kinn Mota". In my database, I have 6 resources with the "Kinn Mota" value for the Brand attribute.
The operator will be able to choose between 2 and 4 resources from the 6 pre-selected resources.
How to ensure that my operator can choose between 2 and 4 engines from the 6 engines that will be selected?
- Verify that 6 resources have the Brand attribute with the value "Kinn Mota". If not, you can create the Brand attribute and assign it in a database. Then, create the resources in the database and assign the "Kinn Mota" value.
- In the form, drag and drop the "Manual Selection" block. Name it "Pre-selected Equipment".
- In the settings, limit the selection to between 2 and 4 pieces of equipment. Check the "Brand" attribute and enter the value "Kinn Mota".
- Start the intervention. Click on Manual Selection. The 6 desired pieces of equipment will be displayed for your operator.
The operator must choose between 2 and 4 pieces of equipment from the 6 selected pieces of equipment (here they will choose the first 3 pieces of equipment).
3. How to load the selected resources automatically?
Within the Manual Selection block, an option allows you to load resource data automatically. The content of the resources will be loaded even before the operator clicks on each resource.
This is possible only if there isn’t value for minimum asset to returned.
The Manual Selection block allows your operator to choose equipment from the pre-selected equipment. The Automatic Selection block does not give the operator the option to choose from the pre-selected equipment.
4. How to ensure that the selected resource becomes the primary resource of the intervention?
Within the settings of the Manual Selection block, if you check the option "This resource is the primary resource of the intervention," then the selected resource will be the primary resource of the intervention. Note that if this option is enabled, it will not be possible to select more than one resource with your Manual Selection block.
- It is not mandatory to define a maximum and minimum number of selectable resources. However, it is not possible to select more than 100 resources.
- If the maximum number of resources selected by the operator exceeds the maximum limit defined by the supervisor, an error message will be displayed on the application.
- If the minimum number of resources selected by the operator is less than the minimum limit defined by the supervisor, an error message will be displayed on the application.
