3. In practice, how to create new attributes?
Context: Let's imagine a user wanting to import various document attributes into his Ermeo platform.
It would take too long to create these attributes one by one. We will therefore proceed to import attributes:
- Create an Excel file containing the columns mentioned above
- Fill in the data, notably specifying the types and names of each of the attributes. If necessary, specify the parameters (for Number, A/B Choice and Multiple Choice attributes).
- Enter the platform and then click on the Documents section. Then click on Attributes and then on Import.
- Import your file then validate the import.
- Ensure that the import was correctly executed on the Imports/Exports page.
In the event of errors, an error file is generated. This file contains the attributes that could not be created.
Limitation
- It is not possible to import more than 200 attributes.
- It is not currently possible to associate attributes with a database at the import stage.
- It is not possible to import several attributes for different Ermeo entities (documents, databases, users, interventions) using a single Excel file. For example, it is not possible to import user AND database attributes using a single Excel file.
- It is not possible to update attributes using an import.
To go further
- It is not possible to cancel an import during progress.
- During an import, using an Excel file, the import is done from the top of the file to the bottom of the file. First, line 1 of the file is imported, then line 2, then line 3 and so on.
- On the Imports/Exports page, you will see a summary of the imports carried out so far.
