Custom Report Templates in Ermeo
Ermeo allows you to create custom report templates with your company's branding. You can choose how to display intervention information in an Excel file.
What is a Custom Report Template?
Each intervention is performed based on a form. At the end of each intervention, a report is automatically generated by Ermeo using a standard template. You can also choose to generate this report in your preferred format by importing a custom report template.
A custom report template is a Word or Excel file that includes tags representing each element of your form. This file defines the layout of your report.
How to Create, Import, and Use a Custom Report Template in Excel
Context: Create an intervention form and then a custom report template incorporating the elements of the form.
- Go to the Documents section and click on the document for which you want to create a report template.
- Click on "Custom Reports" and then "Download Configuration File".
- Open the configuration file and scroll down to see the various tags composing your form.
- Open a blank Excel file.
- Copy and paste the response tags from the configuration file into the cells of your Excel file. Arrange them as you like. You can also copy and paste the question tags.
For instance, if your form has three elements:
5.1 Copy and paste the tag for the Number element from the configuration file into cell B1 of your Excel file.
5.2 Copy and paste the tag for the Text element from the configuration file into cell B2 of your Excel file.
5.3 Copy and paste the tag for the Date element from the configuration file into cell B3 of your Excel file.
You can also copy and paste the tags using the tags in the editing studio.
- Name your file. Go back to the form and click on Import Custom Template (in the Reports tab).
- Choose your custom report template.
- Conduct an intervention using this form.
- Go to the Reports section and select the relevant intervention.
- Choose your custom report template and export the report.
- Go to the Exports section and download your intervention report in the custom format.
- You can reuse tags by using the tags present in each element in the editing studio.
- Each element has a tag for the question, the response, and the user who provided the data.
- You cannot import your Excel report directly to create a custom report template. You must use the tags to build your custom report template.
- You can define multiple custom report templates for a single form.
- If you choose to send a report via email at the end of the intervention, you can select a custom report template from the list of reports.
- It is useful to paste the tags within the print area of your Excel file.
- If a macro exists in your custom report template, it will not be reproduced in your intervention reports.
- You can use an Excel or Word file as a custom report template. It is not possible to export a report in PowerPoint (.ppt) format.
- Checkboxes can be included using the syntax: ##yes_no_task:☑:☒##
- Note that the print options loaded within your custom template will not be taken into account by our Excel report editing tool.
